Supporters of the National Democratic Congress have faced off with personnel of the Ghana Police Service at the Cantonment Police Station in Accra over the arrest of NDC parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Naa Koryoo Okunor.

The party faithful stormed the police station after the National Communication Officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi had called on them to throng the police station where Naa Koryoo Okunor had been detained.

He said they should come and solidarise with her.

Upon arrival in their numbers, they demanded the release of their compatriot. They burned car tyres as a sign of protest. However, the Ghana Police Service beefed up security by deploying more personnel.
