Commuters who ply the Apremdo – Kwesimintsim highway in Takoradi have to meander their vehicles through a ‘swimming pool’ at a stretch in the boulevard following the rejection of a pot hole that has developed to it’s current state.

In a telephone conversation with OnuaOnline Wednesday, October 26, 2022, a resident, Essilfie Senior indicated they have made several protests to leadership to get the road fixed but to no avail.

He reveals the nature of the anomaly forces some big trucks that use the road to climb the pavement to face oncoming vehicles when some trucks get stuck in the ‘pool’.

He is calling on authorities to fix the road before recording a casualty.

“We’ve used pieces of blocks to fill it before but it they weren’t strong enough to fix it. This is the route Mireku Duker uses to Tarkwa. He passes here anytime he comes around. Ambulances use it daily.

“Manganese vehicles can’t use it so they jumped the pavement to meet other incoming vehicles on the other side because a truck was stuck inside. We don’t need to sit down and wait for something to happen before they wear their suit to give us explanations. This place is just about 300 metres to the Military barracks,” he told OnuaOnline.
