The Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor, is giving his account of what ensued on the night of Thursday, January 30, 2025 during the vetting of ministerial nominees.

His account follows a summon before the Special Committee tasked by the Speaker of Parliament to probe the chaos that disrupted the vetting on the said night.

The Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, following the incident took an immediate decision and suspended four of the Members of Parliament and constituted a committee to probe the matter.

The seven member-committee, following accounts by the Majority and Minister of Roads and Highways, Mahama Ayariga and Governs Kwame Agbodza, called on the Chairman of the Committee to account for what he also observed on the day.
