Jane Ayieyam’s brace delivered to Police Ladies FC their first Ghana Women’s Premier League title on Sunday.
The goals, scored in each half of the final, gave POLAS a 2-0 win over champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies to be the new title holders.
The Champion of champions, played at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, saw the winners of the Northern Zone face the winners of the Southern Zone for the bragging rights.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who were seeking to win the title two years in a row, won the Northern Zone whereas POLAS annexed the Southern Zone.
The play-off encounter came right after the 2024/25 Women’s FA Cup final, which saw Faith Ladies, who had been relegated from the Southern Zone League, beat Jonina Ladies to win their first trophy.
That first-time trophy-winning elixir at the venue ran through Police Ladies’ veins as striker Ayieyam opened the score after just 27 minutes of action.
The former Black Maidens star doubled the lead on the soggy pitch a minute from regulation time to send her side to the Gold medal podium.
