President of the Republic, Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has pleaded with Christians and all religious bodies to remember him and the country in constant prayers to overcome the current economic challenges.

The President has insisted only the spirits of reconciliation and togetherness can change the fortunes of the country.

President Akufo-Addo was speaking at the 2nd Presidential Eucharistic New Year Service led by the Anglican church at the Jubilee House.

The President urged believers not to allow their struggles take the better part of them but rather build their hopes above their fears with the spirit resilience to help Ghana become a better place.

“Let me in conclusion plead strongly with the church to bear the nation and me continually up in prayers. As God’s children, we may be tempted to allow our struggles to define our worth.

“However, our ultimate victory is guaranteed. We may stumble along the way but we will always as Romans 8 says be more than conquerors. And as the Archbishop Emeritus the member of the Council of State never ceases to remind me the battle is the Lord’s,” he stated.
