The Judicial Service of Ghana has announced the appointment of Mr. Musah Ahmed as the new Judicial Secretary, effective immediately.
The appointment was approved by His Excellency the President, John Dramani Mahama, acting on the advice of the Judicial Council and in accordance with Article 148 of the 1992 Constitution.
Mr. Ahmed was formally sworn in on Tuesday, October 8, 2025, by the Acting Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie.
Mr. Ahmed takes over the role from Dr. Cyracus B. Bapuuroh, who had been acting in the capacity of Judicial Secretary since April 2025. He now becomes the 17th Judicial Secretary since the First Republic.
Bringing over 25 years of legal experience, Mr. Ahmed has been in private legal practice as the CEO of Ahmed Legal Consult. His expertise covers several areas, including Maritime Law, Commercial Law, Constitutional Law, Land Law, and International Law.
He holds an LL.M in National Security Law from the University of Ghana and was awarded the Best Student in Advocacy and Legal Ethics from the Ghana School of Law in 1999.
The Judicial Service noted that Mr. Ahmed is expected to bring his values of integrity, excellence, and service to his new role.
