Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has said the establishment of a Presidential Delivery Unit within the Office of the President is to rigorously track and evaluate the implementation of government promises and projects on a monthly basis.
Speaking at the Koforidua Townhall Meeting on Saturday, May 2, 2026, he stressed that the unit will systematically assess the status of every commitment to ensure effective implementation and successful delivery.
“His Excellency has made it clear to all of us serving in this administration that we were not elected to avoid difficult problems. We were elected to solve them,” he stated.
According to him, “whether it is rebuilding economic confidence, improving service delivery, creating opportunities for young people, or restoring trust in public institutions, the President has challenged us to confront the hard issues directly and pursue lasting solutions.”
He added that “one of the key instruments established to support this mission is the Presidential Delivery Unit, which I have the honour of chairing on behalf of the President.”
Mr. Debrah noted that the purpose of the Delivery Unit is straightforward but important, which is to exist to ensure that government commitments are duly executed.
The Chief of Staff explained that officials from the unit will also actively engage traditional authorities and opinion leaders to gather grassroots feedback and drive responsive action on community concerns.
“We remain on track in executing the President’s mandate and delivering meaningful progress to our people,” he noted.
“We understand clearly that citizens are not interested in excuses. They are interested in outcomes. And that is the standard President Mahama has set for all of us. Today is another opportunity for citizens to speak directly to their government, to raise concerns, ask questions, offer ideas, and participate meaningfully in shaping our national direction,” he added.
He explained further that “this administration believes strongly that listening is leadership. That is why the President is here today. Not only to speak to the people, but to hear from the people, officials from my unit would be visiting your communities to speak to chiefs and community leaders on deliverables we have given the MMDCEs and all our appointees, please engage them with the truth, if something is going wrong, speak about it. Do well to also talk about the good works.”
