French champions Paris Saint-Germain have added the UEFA Super Cup to their trophy cabinet after coming from two goals down to beat Tottenham Hotspur on penalties in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup.
In the final played at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udinese, the UEFA Europa League champions were aiming to topple the French side and follow in the footsteps of Chelsea, who were 3-0 winners in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Spurs broke the deadlock in the first half through Micky van der Ven.
The London-based side doubled their lead immediately after the break with new captain Cristian Romero scoring for his team.
With just five minutes to go and after a goal was ruled out for offside, PSG pulled one back through Kang-In Lee.
The much-needed equaliser came in injury time as substitute Gonçalo Ramos scored for the Parisiens.
History beckoned for the French champions as they beat Spurs 4-3 in the shootouts to become the first side from that country to win the UEFA Super Cup.
It is also the first trophy for them this season after winning the historic treble last season.
