Brazil legend, Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, has named fellow compatriot Gabriel Jesus as one of the world’s best strikers at the moment.
Ronaldo, even though was confident Jesus could end his lengthy goal drought when Brazil clashed with Cameroon in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final Group G tie on Friday night, he couldn’t connect any ball till his eventual substitution in the 64th minute.
Jesus has transformed Arsenal’s attack this season after joining the Gunners from Manchester City for £45 million.
Speaking ahead of Brazil’s clash with Cameroon, Ronaldo said Jesus is his friend, adding that he exchanged ideas with the 25-year-old.
“Jesus came to have dinner with us, he stayed by my side there, I met his little daughter, the most beautiful thing,” Ronaldo said (via UOL).
“We exchanged ideas, he’s a very good friend of mine, we’ve been talking for many years. A very special boy.
“I was chatting with him, reassuring him. He really is having a spectacular year at Arsenal.
“Gabriel today is one of the best strikers in the world and much more mature than in 2018.
“The goal will come naturally, and this concern shouldn’t cross your mind. All he has to do is take the field and do what he knows how to do.”
