The Salaga-Ekumdipe-Kpandai Road has been cut off following days of torrential rainfall.
The development has left hundreds of residents of the area stranded and put emergency services, such as medical referrals, at risk.
The only alternative route to access Salaga from Kpandai and vise versa is to pass through Chamba in the Nanumba North District.

On Friday, September 26, the official vehicle of the MCE for East Gonja which was driven by an unofficial driver, was nearly carried away by the running water.

In 2019, then President Akufo-Addo, cut sod for the construction of the Salaga-Ekumdipe-Kpandai Road (km 26.7-45.3) which was scheduled to complete by 2023. Unfortunately, work on the road stalled by the end of 2021
Flooding, occasioned by torrential rains, has been an annual predicament, affecting socio-economic activities in the area.
