Private legal practitioner and National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has rejected allegations suggesting he was driving in town over the weekend in a convoy.

He says the allegations were leveled by a former Presidential Staffer in the immediate past Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration indicating he was seen in town with several cars and police dispatch outriders.

But a statement issued by the Head of NDC’s National Communications Bureau Monday, January 13, 2025, indicates that he is “an ordinary citizen of Ghana” and does not move around with convoys.

Mr. Gyamfi stated that the said allegations are meant to create public disaffection for him, and has entreated the public to treat it with the contempt it deserves.

SAMMY GYAMFI WRITES:

My attention has been drawn to a social media post by one Justice Abeeku, a former Presidential Staffer under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia NPP government to the effect that he encountered me in a large convoy of several cars and Police dispatch riders while driving in Accra sometime over the weekend.

I wish to place on record that the said claim is totally false and maliciously contrived to court public disaffection for me. I was nowhere near the said convoy, nor have I ever sanctioned or used any such convoy. As an ordinary citizen of Ghana, I do not go about my business in such convoys.

I therefore entreat the public to dismiss this fabrication with utmost contempt.

Signed
Sammy Gyamfi Esq
(National Communication Officer, NDC)
