A contractor is demanding the proceeds from the sale of his equipment on a construction site after a school building he was putting up became a fiasco.

The contractor says he is not getting the funds he needs to complete the project and wants the community to sell off his remaining equipment and send him his money through MoMo.

Residents at Kroboase in the Birim South district of the Eastern region have been complaining over the issue which their Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Nyarko says is a GETFund project and cannot continue because government doesn’t want to top up the funds for the project to continue.

The project was started by the erstwhile NDC government in 2016 but was abandoned after they left office.

Speaking with Secretary of the Community, Eric Asante, he said the contractor has told them to sell off his remaining equipments and MoMo the money to him.

The Secretary who is keeping the equipment said they improvised a structure for the pupils to use as classroom in the meantime.
