Academic activities at the Dwomo Methodist Basic School in the Shama District of the Western Region have been thrown into disarray following the discovery of what is believed to be a human bone in one of the classrooms.

According to a worried parent who spoke to Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show, both pupils and teachers have been left traumatized by the incident.

The strange bone was found hanging across the chalk board of the Primary six classroom with a blue nylon rope tied to it, Wednesday morning

“The pupils arrived at school this morning and found the bone hanging on the blackboard. A blue rope had been used to keep it fixed. We still don’t know the culprits,” a teacher said.

“The teachers quickly informed the Parents’ Association, who came to lock the affected classroom. Academic work has since been disrupted as all the Teachers and pupils have been traumatized by the scene,” the parent who chose to remain anonymous, indicated.

Solomon Egyir, Chairman of the School Management Committee (SMC), confirmed the incident and said urgent steps were being taken to address the situation.

“The classroom where the bones were found has been locked. Everyone is terrified, so no one has touched it. Our next step is to call an emergency meeting of all parents to inform them of what has happened. We are also considering involving a spiritualist to help with the necessary rituals to clear the classroom for effective academic work to resume,”Mr Egyir said.

The incident has left the entire Dwomo Community in a state of fear and apprehension, as investigations continue into the motive behind this mysterious act.
