Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has criticised the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) officials for allegedly invading his home with firearms.
Shatta Wale claims EOCO’s Executive Director, Raymond Archer, personally led the operation to storm his residence.
Shatta Wale, in a Facebook post on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, alleged that EOCO officials stormed his house heavily armed, though he didn’t specify the exact time of the alleged invasion or the rationale behind it.
The ‘Dancehall King’ perceived this development as an abuse of power, describing the move as intimidation, and questioned the motives behind the action.
“EOCO boss, the President of Ghana didn’t put you in that office to come and humiliate the citizens of this country. Remember God no sleep,” he stated.
Shatta Wale, known for his outspoken persona, further warned that such acts could have political repercussions.
“Raymond Archer EOCO Boss, Ibe you go make NDC go out of power next 4yrs. Bringing guns to my house was uncalled for,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, a 2019 Lamborghini Urus believed to have been purchased with proceeds from crime linked to Shatta Wale has been seized by EOCO.
