The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has preferred charges against six officials of Ghana Premier League side Real Tamale United (RTU).

The officials are said to have been involved in the club’s infraction of fielding unregistered players in their outstanding game against Dreams FC on Wednesday, June 12.

Among these officials are Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zakaria Safianu and Assistant Coach Iddi Manzah Alhassan.

The others are Abdul-Samed Iddrisu, who is the Physiotherapist, and Welfare Officer Sylvester Yaw Apanka.

The rest are both team staff: Tanko Jentumah and Abdul-Gafaru Salifu.

“It is alleged that the aforementioned officials facilitated Real Tamale United in deceiving match officials during the said game by using unregistered players to impersonate officially registered players of their club, which constitutes misconduct that brings the name of the game into disrepute,” a statement from the GFA on Wednesday night said.

They have been given up to Friday, June 14 to respond to the charges.

RTU, already relegated from the club, fielded an entirely new squad in the match, which ended 8-1 in favour of Dreams FC.
