The Management Committee Chairperson for the Black Queens and an Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Gifty Oware Mensah, has pleaded with the media to shift focus from discussing the bonuses of the Black Queen to promoting their Olympic Games qualifier against Zambia.

Dr. Oware Mensah is of the view that the continuous discussion of the unpaid bonuses can affect the players psychologically and that can even empower the Copper Queens of Zambia against Ghana on Friday.

“Ideally, everyone must be paid for a work done but there’s a situation we all are trying to resolve,” she told the media on Wednesday, February 21.

“I will plead with the media to stop discussing the bonuses of the Queens because it can cause some sort of psychological problem to the players and that can affect our game on Friday.

“Again it can also empower the Zambians knowing that the players are not in a stable minds,” added Dr Oware Mensah.

The Black Queens play Zambia in the final eliminator for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ghana are hoping to make it to the Olympic Games for the first time in history.
