Following the Asantehene’s commendation, the rapper has been quite enthusiastic on social media and has posted often to celebrate this significant accomplishment.

What Otumfuo said

During his address at the dinner session of the General Conference of the Ghana Bar Association in Kumasi, Otumfuo urged Ghanaians particularly political leaders “to think deeply before denigrating the system.”

He said although Ghana’s Judicial system may be fraught with some challenges, Ghanaians must appreciate the country as there are some countries which aspire to be like Ghana.

He called on Ghanaians to reflect on Kofi Kinaata’s insightful lyrics.

He cited the phrase ‘Obi nya w’ayɛ” from Kofi Kinaata’s hit song ‘Susuka’ to emphasise the importance of appreciating Ghana’s unique identity and what we have that other African countries lacked.

“We have a judiciary that may not be perfect but it deserves credit for the positive efforts. I can think of many countries which look at Ghana and to the seas ‘Y3 nyamuay3’.

“Sometimes listen to the wisdom of our musicians and reflect on a piece like Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Obi nya w’ayɛ’ ’ which means ‘Someone wishes they were like you,” Otumfuo remarked.
