Gor Mahia FC midfielder Enoch Morrison has pointed accusing fingers at former Asante Kotoko coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum for his exit from the Porcupine Warriors.
According to him, the decision had nothing to do with his play as he was playing well for the club.
Speaking on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Tuesday, July 8, Morrison said he was told by Coach Ogum via a phone call that he was no longer needed.
“I have no problem with the club but it was the coach, he was working and in charge and every decision he takes for the team to be better is his,” he observed.
“I am also a player and whatever I have to do for the team to do well, I will also do because at the end, it is all about one goal, that is to get the team success.
“So, the decision was solely by the coach and maybe it is for the betterment of the team and as everybody saw, it had nothing to do with my play because I was playing good.
“The decision [Coach Prosper Ogum] took is up to him because he did not explain to me why that decision.”
Morrison also disclosed that he was close to signing for rivals Hearts of Oak but could not put pen to paper due to a number of reasons.
He revealed how then Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara called him several times and made advanced talks with his manager.
He indicated that he had to even sometimes train with the club.
“But because there was no contract, I left with my boots and Gor Mahia came calling.”
Morrison joined Asante Kotoko for two seasons, having played for King Faisal Babes.
He has spent a season in the Kenyan Premier League so far.
