Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress is asking the Energy minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, the whereabouts of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President.

Sammy Gyamfi says Ghana’s economy has plummeted as a result of a depreciated Cedi stemming from poor economic management which the head of the EMT, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, should be looking at.

Sammy Gyamfi’s shots come after a High Court ruling slapped a ₵500,000.00 damages and a ₵50,000.00 cost against him for defaming Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Energy Minister and MP for Manhyia South.

In a Facebook post made Friday, October 14, 2022, Sammy Gyamfi, who had earlier indicated the ruling was an error and would seek an appeal said he is baffled the MP is jubilating over a case that has seen a first round of a possible four rulings.

He described his attitude as that of a child who is jubilating over a party and rather than jumping around, the minister should call the Vice President to address the economic challenges befalling the country.

“You win the 1st round of what is likely going to be a 4-round match and you are all over the place behaving like some kindergarten pupils celebrating “our day”.

“The dollar has shattered the 8 and broken the 12. Where is your economic wizkid, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia now?,” he quizzed.

“Knowing your long-standing hatred for me and your determination to see my downfall, I can understand the desperation on display.

“For your information, I remain focused, unshakable, impregnable and unbreakable. None of these things move me. Know this truth and stop wasting your time and data on me,” he added.
