The Aowin Traditional Council has disclosed that there have been eight attempts to assassinate the paramount chief, Beyeeman Tano Kwao Benbuin III, since his enstoolment.

Speaking to Emmanuel Sowah, a Freelancer in the Western North region, Secretary of the traditional council, Nana Duncan Amushia said an unknown group of people have been attacking the palace to assassinate the chief but all proved futile.

The latest attack happened in the early hours of Sunday, November 6, 2022, when an unidentified group of people believed to be residents of Enchi attacked the palace. Unfortunately, four of the attackers lost their lives in an exchange of gunfire and one in critical condition.

The community has been in fear and panic after the attack on the place. There has been a security beef-up in the area nonetheless, to ensure calm is restored.

However, Nana Amushia has indicated the environment is quite conducive and calm despite the fear and panic created by the attacks. He urged the residents to remain calm as the traditional council and the security are putting measures in place to bring activities to normal

Meanwhile, some residents they still fear the peace in the community shall be threatened again and have hence appealed to the security to be proactive in the execution of their duties.
