Black Stars midfielder Thomas Teye Partey has been granted conditional bail by the Westminster Magistrate Court in the UK after appearing for the first time over rape charges.

The Ghanaian has been charged with multiple cases of rape.

Appearing before the Westminster Magistrates’ Court, the former Arsenal midfielder was asked to reappear on Tuesday, September 2.

He will, however, move to Old Bailey as the case will next be heard by the Central Criminal Court.

As per the conditions of the bail, the former Atletico Madrid player is not allowed to contact any of the women involved in the case.

He must also notify the police of any address changes and international travel.

He is also to turn up to next court appearance.

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring observed that Partey is no longer employed in the UK.

“I understand he’s no longer employed in this country and playing in Spain now.”
