Black Stars Deputy Captain Thomas Teye Partey has denied all the rape charges levelled against him by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the UK.

On Friday, July 4, the Metropolitan Police Service, having been authorised by the CPS, charged the former Arsenal midfielder with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

Two of the counts of rape related to one woman while the rest related to a second woman, court documents revealed.

The offences are said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022.

According to prosecution, the case was submitted after a file of evidence was made available by detectives.

However, reacting to the charge, lawyer of the Ghanaian footballer Jenny Wiltshire said her client is unable to comment on the matter but denies all the charges.

“He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation.

“He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name.

“Given that there are now ongoing legal proceedings, my client is unable to comment further.”

Partey is scheduled to appear at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 5.
