John Dramani Mahama, flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is certain some people who used to criticise the erstwhile NDC administration will find their voices once the NDC returns to power.

John Mahama has said that those persons cannot speak anymore because they developed a toothache the moment the New Patriotic Party (NPP) came to power.

However, he is sure such critics will find an antidote to whatever is preventing them from speaking about this government once the NPP goes to opposition.

According to Mahama, although things are worse off under the NPP, such persons are mute because they see no evil.

During his address to constituents and party faithful at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church at Alogboshie in the Okaikoi North constituency Sunday, September 15, 2024, as part of his phase two tour of the Greater Accra region, John Mahama said he is aware those who are not speaking anymore will find their voices when the NDC wins the December elections.

“Wait and see that after NDC wins power, those who had toothache and could not speak about this NPP administration will suddenly get their toothaches vanished. Those with headache who couldn’t speak against the NPP government will also get healed the moment NDC comes to power because they will get paracetamol to take.

“So, you’ll hear them talking anyhow; ‘where are the wise men? Come and save this nation’ amongst others. These are the reasons this nation is not progressing. Hypocrisy is what is pulling this nation back. If we see the truth, if it’s black it’s black, if it’s white, it is white, it doesn’t matter who is in office, we must be truthful at all times,” he stated.

He bemoaned the NPP administration’s abysmal performance, saying the level of greed and corruption would have caused a coup d’etat if the NDC was the party in power.

“With the level of corruption, thievery and greed that has gone on under this administration, I am telling you that if it was an NDC government, by now, the military would have ousted this administration. I am saying it and that is the truth,” he reemphasised.
