The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has explained why he rejected gifts presented to him by the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

Togbe declined gifts from the loudmouthed legislator during his visit to the Asogli State to participate in the Yam Festival celebrated by the Asogli indigenes.

In a letter released from the chief’s outfit to clarify comments surrounding his gesture, he noted the MP requested from the traditional Council that he and his entourage be invited for the festival.

He added the Council declined the offer but for his personal appeal for which the request was accepted.

The reasons for the rejection by the Council he espoused were due to some vilifications the legislator has poured on the chief dating back to 2009.

Togbe therefore apologised to his Council and the entire Asogli State for pleading the Council to offer the invite which they hitherto declined.

Below is the letter from Togbe Afede XIV.
