Following his arrest and a campaign launch by Media General Ghana Limited for the government to stop galamsey, Captain Smart, host of Maakye on Onua TV/FM has reiterated his comments about the presidency’s involvement in the menace.
He says no amount of intimidation will stop him from talking about government officials and members of the ruling party who are actively involved in the menace.
Speaking Friday, October 21, 2022, Mr. Smart noted not even a trial in the Flagstaff House with the President himself as judge will stop him from reiterating the President’s active involvement in the act until he takes a step about it.
“…If you like set up a court at the Jubilee House. Make Nana Addo the judge, Rebecca Akufo-Addo the clerk, Nana Addo’s daughters the CID to arrest me, I still don’t fear. The Jubilee House is involved [in galamsey] if not, he [Akufo-Addo] should arrest all the people involved in galamsey,” he repeated.
He again noted that “Wontumi is stopping the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Minerals Commission from doing thier work in the Western and Ashanti regions.”
