Two suspects are in the grips of the Tema Regional Police Command for attacking and robbing a businessman at Ashaiman, a suburb of the Greater Accra region.
Karim Fatao, one of the suspects, according to the Tema Regional Police Command, was arrested on February 26 2025, which was the day the robbery was committed.
The second suspect, Wonder Babanawo, who had been on the police wanted list for a series of robberies within Ashaiman and parts of Tema, was arrested on March Saturday, March 29, 2025.
The Public Relations Unit of the Tema Regional Police Command, in a statement signed by its PRO, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Stella Dede Dzakpasu, details that a search on the suspects led to the retrieval of several weapons and other items.
Amongst them included a Ruger pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, 30 mobile phone covers, six SIM cards, a quantity of dried plant material suspected to be Indian hemp, one Samsung tablet, and three copies of land indenture.
According to the statement, Karim was arraigned on March 03, following his arrest and has since been remanded into police custody.
The second suspect, Wonder Babanawo, is still in police custody and is set to be arraigned to face justice.
