The Government of the United States of America has donated three Freightliner trucks to the Engineers Training School of the Ghana Armed Forces.

In a statement on the Facebook page of the Deputy Minister of Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi on Friday, June 5, 2026, he said the vehicles were formally presented by the Charge d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy Ghana, Rolf Oslon.

Receiving the donation, the Deputy Minister of Defence expressed profound gratitude to the U.S. Government for their continued support in strengthening the operational capacity of the Ghana Armed Forces.

He stressed that the trucks will enhance the Engineers Regiment’s ability to respond to humanitarian emergencies, disaster relief, and national development projects.

The Deputy Minister highlighted that, under their constitutional mandate, the Armed Forces are engaged in critical national development roles.

These include realigning and dredging polluted river bodies, rehabilitating banks, reclaiming degraded forest reserves in partnership with Goldbod, and contributing engineering expertise to the Accra-Kumasi Expressway.

He further noted the U.S. Government’s support in airlifting Ghanaian engineers to Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa, underscoring the versatility of the Armed Forces and the depth of Ghana-US cooperation.

“This donation reflects the enduring partnership between Ghana and the United States, built on shared commitments to peace, stability, and development,” Mr Genfi wrote.
