The newly constructed University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra will host the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup finals, according to Mr. Wilson Arthur, the MTN FA Cup Committee chairman.

The semi-final games will take place at the WAFA Park in Sogakope, he further disclosed.

Mr. Arthur provided these disclosures in an exclusive interview with Akoma FM, detailing the factors that led to their decision.

“After further discussions, we changed our original plan to hold the semi-finals and finals at the newly constructed Tarkwa T N A Stadium and Legon Stadium, respectively. However, the T N A Stadium was not ready.

“We thought about going to Samreboi, but after some consultations, we decided that going to the Volta [Region] would be more helpful, so we went back to our backup plan, which was Sogakope,” he added.

Mr. Wilson Arthur went on to say that they would prefer to play the competition at the Legon stadium for the semi-finals and finals going forward.

“However, the Legon Stadium has been selected to host this year’s finals. We would like to choose that location for the competition’s semifinal and final rounds going forward, pending ExCco approval.”

The University of Ghana Stadium recently hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2023 African Games.
