Professor Ransford Edward Van Gyampo of the University of Ghana has been voted President of the University Teachers’ Association of Ghana (UTAG), UG-Chapter.

The Professor who prior to his election as President of the Association attained 93.3 per cent of the total valid votes cast.

He has been telling OnuaOnline after his victory that he is ready to fight for the interest of members of the union irrespective of the outcome.

“In the driving seat myself, I’ll champion the interest of my people forcefully and proactively. I lost some friends as General Secretary and I do not mind losing more as I fight harder for the University Teacher in my capacity as President,” he indicated.

He says his leadership would not be targeting any regime with hatred or malice but “just for the advancement of the interest of my people.”

He expressed gratitude to his colleague lecturers for the confidence reposed in him.
