What seemed to be a campaign that presented a storm in a tea cup to Ghanaians due to government’s reaction rather turned out to be a mountain presented as a molehill.

During the last quater of 2021, the Maakye team birthed a national discussion on the abandoned 800 capacity J.A. Kufuor 38 Military Hospital at Afari in the Ashanti region.

The project, initiated by the J.A. Kufuor administration and completed by John Mahama had been left to rot, even though it was left with some few finishing touches to become operational.

Following the report by the Maakye team in 2021, the Deputy Defence Minister, Kofi Amankwah-Manu, lambasted the team for ‘unearthing’ such rejected edifice which he claimed government waa working assiduously to make it operational.

It was part of the team’s Loans In The Bush projects.

Government assured completion of the facility by December 2022. But the state of the hospital as at February 2023 is nothing to write home about.
