The Kings Group of Companies has donated furniture and cash to some institutions and individuals in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis (STMA).

The gesture was to officially open the Group’s first ultra-modern furniture shop, Furniture Mall, at the Takoradi Mall, marking a proud milestone in the company’s over 30-year journey in Ghana’s furniture manufacturing and retail industry.

Speaking at the grand opening ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of Kings Group Ekow Nkrumah-Bentum said Furniture Mall was positioned to offer high-quality and affordable furniture solutions for homes, offices, and hotels.

He announced that the collections ranged from contemporary designs to timeless classics, reflecting sophistication, comfort, and artistic flair, and invited the general public to visit the shop for a unique shopping experience that combines luxury and value.

He highlighted the company’s humble beginnings in 1992 as Kings Furniture Works, which was formally registered in 1996, and said the company will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year.

He disclosed that the company, with branches in Accra and Takoradi, employs over 120 staff members who have helped it build a solid reputation for innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction.

“At Kings Group, we don’t just manufacture furniture – we shape lifestyles and set the standard for excellence. Our products are designed to be stylish, functional, durable, and accessible,” Mr. Nkrumah-Bentum said.

General Manager Sylvester Anan-Mensah, in his welcome address, stated that the company had donated cash, furniture, and educational support to several institutions and individuals, totaling GH¢170,600.

Twelve institutions from the Western and Central Regions received donations at the event.

They include Holy Child College of Education, Rapid Deployment Forces (RDF) of the Ghana Police Service in Takoradi, Ghana Prisons Service (Sekondi), Good Shepherd Anglican JHS, Takoradi Technical Institute, Opportunities Industrialization Technical Institute, Catholic Special Vocation School (Sekondi), Moree D/A Basic School, Police Basic School (Cape Coast), Ghana National Fire Service – Asankragua, All Saints Anglican JHS (Takoradi), and Powerful Jesus Prayer Ministry.

For his part, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly, Abdul Majeed Dokurgu, commended Mr. Nkrumah-Bentum, founder of the Kings Group, for his humility, innovation, and consistency, which have driven the company’s success over the years.

He further praised the company for its contributions to job creation, human development, and institutional growth and urged staff to continue giving their best to propel the company to greater heights.
