Over 20 alleged impersonators have been nabbed by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in the ongoing West African Senior High School Examination (WASSCE).

According to Section 5 of the WAEC Act, persons involved in the act of impersonation are likely to pay penalties of either GH₵600.00 or GH₵1,200.00 or will face a jail term of 3 months.

Briefing the media, Head of Public Affairs for WAEC, Agnes Teye-Cuddjoe explained a good number of schools were involved in the exam malpractices including the use of mobile phones, sharing of photocopied answer materials by invigilators, among others.
