The Black Satellites secured a 2-0 win over Niger in their second match in the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-20 Championships on Sunday.

A brace by Musibau Aziz in the second half ensured that the Satellites get their first win in the qualifying competition for the 2025 U-20 AFCON.

After a goalless first half at the Stade Municipal in Lome, Togo, the Ghanaians became desperate for a goal as all efforts to break the deadlock proved futile.

However, Aziz’s long-range effort beat the Nigerien goalie to open the scoring in the 64th minute.

After just nine minutes, he doubled the lead for Ghana as he was played on by striker Jerry Afriyie.

The win takes Ghana top of the group ahead of their final game at this stage against the hosts, Togo.

That match is scheduled to be played on Wednesday.

In the other game, Togo drew goalless with Niger, much to chagrin of a few home fans.

They expect the final game to be a must-win for them.
