Head Coach of the Black Princesses Yusif Basigi has appealed to the government to contract other national team coaches, aside the Black Stars coach.

He said the nation’s football-governing body is “too small” to handle contractual matters for coaches and that government is best-placed to do so.

Speaking to Onua Sports‘ Mary Adepa Anane Antwi on the sidelines of a press conference in Cape Coast on Monday, July 22, Coach Basigi said they are suffering as national team coaches.

When it comes to contract matters, the GFA cannot handle them,” the Hasaacas Ladies coach said.

“If they are to enter contracts with coaches, it will be a worry.

“It is the government that must pay attention to us because the national team belongs to the government and the GFA is a caretaker. So, government should turn attention to us because we are suffering.”

Basigi will lead the Black Princesses to the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to be held in Colombia.

Ghana are in Group E, paired with Japan, New Zealand and Austria.

He said despite the difficulties with coaching female sides, his team will do well in Colombia.

However, he expressed worry the team is not getting the needed attention as preparations continue for the U-20 Women’s World Cup.

For him, the Black Stars would have attracted more attention were they preparing for a World Cup.
