Black Stars coach Otto Addo has expressed disappointment with the outcome of the last two games of his team, particularly Monday’s draw against Niger.
Ghana were beaten 1-0 last Thursday by Angola in the opening qualifier for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
On Monday, the four-time African champions lost a 1-0 lead in the 81st minute for Niger to pick a point in the second qualifier.
Oumar Sako snatched the equaliser from a set piece after France-based Alidu Seidu had put Ghana in the lead in the first half.
The results see Ghana trailing Angola and Sudan in Group F and on the same points as bottom-placed Niger.
In an interview after the game, Head Coach Otto Addo expressed chagrin about the result.
“Definitely not, I am not satisfied at all,” he said with palpable frustration in his voice.
“I am really disappointed to be honest. We talked and we trained on set pieces, we talked about situations which could happen and the way they defended in the last 10 minutes was really, really bad.”
He said his boys had the game under control generally but chances must be taken in these kinds of games.
“At the end, these kind of games are like this. There are no cheap teams, every team can play and Niger also did well, especially in their counter attacks. But I am very, very disappointed with the way we allowed our goals.”
Ghana will play Sudan in a home-and-away tie in October as the qualifiers draw to a finish.
