Former minister of Tourism and Culture, Catherine Abelema Afeku, has clarified that $200,000.00 was spent on the AFRIMA organised under her leadership five years ago. 

The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) was organised in 2018 under the erstwhile leadership of Catherine Afeku to award musicians who were excelling on their respective fields on the African continent.

After the programme, there were rumours about the exact amount spent on the event with some speculating that about $4 million to $5 million was spent on the awards.

But speaking on Onua FM’s Drive Time show, ‘Efie ne Fie’ with Dr. Prekese Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Madam Afeku said they were given $200,000.00 which was even on a credit base, and latter issued by Ken Ofori-Atta, the Finance minister.
