Wee (weed) they say is the substance that gives them joy. But the rise in prices of the product has aggrieved some customers at Winneba in the Central Region who have threatened a naked demonstration over the rise in prices.
Ato Kwamena, an aggrieved smoker says they are surprised a ₵1.50 roll of wee is now sold at ₵5.00.
He says their suppliers are citing the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the depreciation of the Cedi as the cause for the sharp increase in prices.
He complains that their performance in bed has dwindled following the high cost of the substance which has made it difficult for them purchase. The reason he stated is that, the wee revitalises them to perform well in bed.
The development, Ato noted, is making their women leave them.
“Our women are leaving us. Prior to this period, the wee was giving us energy but now it’s too expensive so we cannot purchase it. It’s a worry. How can you tell me you’ve increased the price of wee because of the dollar? How does the dollar affect something produced here?,” he told Kumasi-based Sompa FM.
He added that the association of wee smokers at Winneba will march naked from Winneba to Mankessim if nothing is done about the price.
