National Youth Organiser of the NDC, George Opare Addo, has said that the National Democratic Congress will protect the December elections at the peril of their lives.
He has sent a word of caution to the Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, not to employ any tactics that will change the verdict of the people at the polls.
“Madam Jean Mensa, come 7th December, we are not asking anybody to cheat for the NDC. We are very confident we are going to win the elections. Woe unto any man born of a woman, who will go to any polling station and do the untoward, we will face them squarely. We protected the ballot in Assin North and we will protect the ballot at the peril of our lives,” he told the EC Chair.
Speaking at the launch of the NDC’s 2024 campaign in Tamale, the Northern regional capital, on the theme; Change to reset Ghana, Mr. Opare Addo asked the public to step out on December 07 to vote massively for the NDC to relieve the country out of the problems it is facing.
According to him, although Ghanaians elected the NPP government to solve the problems of the Ghana, they have rather become a problem for the country.
He has therefore asked the President to handover the country to the NDC as peacefully as he inherited.
“We elect governments to solve problems. We’ve elected a government that has become a problem,” he noted.
“We are urging Nana Addo Dankwa and his government that come 7th December, he should hand over a peaceful country to John Dramani Mahama,” he noted.
He also admonished the Inspector General of Police to desist from the ongoing secret recruitment. Pablo indicated that Ghana belongs to all of its citizens and everyone should be given the equal opportunity in the security services recruitment.
He stated that if the practice continues, “if they continue, we’ll mobilise young people in this country to go to where they are recruiting because every Ghanaian is entitled to be recruited into the police force.”
