Two persons have been confirmed dead and several others injured in an accident involving two tricycles, commonly known as ‘pragyia’, and a Kia Rhino truck at Achimfo, a community near Enchi in the Aowin municipality of the Western North region.
According to Isaiah, an eyewitness, the fatal accident occurred when two pragyia reportedly attempted to wrongfully overtake each other, and a Kia Rhino truck, which was behind them, allegedly experienced brake failure and veered off its course. Subsequently, the two pragyia, each with four passengers, crashed into the Kia Rhino.
Meanwhile, the Assemblyman for the Achimfo electoral area, Daniel Asare, confirmed to Onua News, that the impact of the crash was devastating, killing one person on the spot, and the other person pronounced dead at the Enchi Government Hospital.
He mentioned that scores of others, including passengers aboard both tricycles, sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Enchi Government Hospital for treatment.
