The Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong has said that what is happening in the Parliament is not good for Ghana.
Speaking with the media after Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin adjourned the House indefinitely because the New Patriotic Party members did not show up, the MP said, “what I want to tell the media is in the interest of our country Ghana, because I believe in Ghana, what is going on in Parliament is not good for the country”.
“I have advised my colleagues on the other side (NDC) that assuming you win the incoming election would you want Parliament to support you in your decisions? Because whoever wins and whoever loses will not cooperate and what would be the faith if our country? That is my major concern,” he said.
He added that ” …it is upsetting to see grown up members of Parliament behaving the way we’re behaving, it is simple. For peace sake, how many months left for elections for a country to go through all what we are going through? He asked.”
He further stated that “don’t think it is only NPP, it is the whole Ghana going through these challenges, next month is Christmas and I believe that workers are not going to have their salaries because Parliament has to approve”.
However, “I personally don’t care who wins this election, as long as we have peaceful country is all what I need”.
