Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has marked the 13th anniversary of his debut album ‘Superstar’.

‘Superstar’ contained worldwide hit songs like “Don’t Dull,” “Pakuromo,” and “Holla AT Your Boy” and was released on June 12, 2012, under Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).

The album was a huge blockbuster which launched Wizkid’s career.

In a heartfelt post on X, Wednesday, June 13, Wizkid expressed his gratitude to God for the blessings his first album brought to him throughout the 13 years since its release.

He celebrated his journey from the young artiste he was to the global superstar he has become, describing himself as a “millionaire in every currency” and a “real-life winner”.

Wizkid also acknowledged the support of his family and team throughout these 13 years.

Wizkid encouraged his fans to strive for genuine success, emphasising the importance of living an authentic life and avoiding deceptive lifestyles.

He wrote: “13 yrs since superstar! First album! Thankful for all God’s blessings. Healthy family! Blessed life! Love God.

“Millionaires in every currency! Real-life winners! Make sure you win in real life, do not deceive yourself! U deserve it.”

Wizkid’s journey has been remarkable, from his debut album to establishing his record label, Starboy Entertainment, in 2014.

He has collaborated with international artists, won numerous awards, and broken boundaries in the music industry.
