The Ogun State Police Command in Nigeria is holding a 33-year-old woman in custody for reportedly squeezing her landlord’s testicles to death over a dispute on electricity tariff arrears.

The suspect, Ifeoma Ossai was apprehended on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Sango-Ota according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), after the demise of her 50-year-old landlord, Monday Oladele, resulting from the brawl between the duo.

The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Supt. Abimbola Oyeyemi confirming the incident said the suspect was arrested upon a complaint submitted to the Sango-Ota divisional headquarters by one Olaleye Taiwo.

According to the police chief, the complainant said that his brother had a dispute with his tenant about the payment of an electricity tariff.

According to the report, the deceased’s testicles were grabbed by the suspect during the argument and dragged him with it.

The late Oladele collapsed in the process and was rushed to the Ota General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on by the attending medic.

“Following receiving the information, CSP Saleh Dahiru, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Sango Ota Division, led his investigators to the area, where the suspect was swiftly apprehended and placed into custody for investigation.

“During questioning, the suspect stated that the deceased wanted her to pay the electrical bill.

“However, she insisted on not paying the electricity or any other utility payment until water was immediately connected to her apartment as promised by the landlord before she packed in,” Supt. Oyeyemi said in a statement.

According to NAN, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has directed that the suspect be immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department’s homicide department for comprehensive investigation and prosecution.

The body of the deceased landlord has been put at the Ota Medical Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
