President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said Ghana has not been affected by the ongoing  extremism in neighbouring countries due to the meticulousness of his government.

He says his administration has been proactive and put measures in place to ensure the safety and security of Ghana.

In Parliament Tuesday, February 27, 2024, whilst delivering the State of the Nation address (SONA) he maintained that Ghana has been safe from the hovering extremism as a result of proper planning and equipping of the security agencies to function effectively.

President Akufo-Addo also underscored the commitment to the well-being of the Ghana Armed Forces and all security agencies, emphasizing the allocation their readiness to defend the nation anytime due to the availability of esources.

He reassured the nation of its current state, asserting, “Our nation is safe and secure.”

The President further noted significant enhancements in the equipment and capabilities of the police force, emphasizing that they are now better equipped than ever before.

Recognizing the challenges posed by extremism in other parts of West Africa, the President  cautioned against taking the territorial integrity of the country for granted, pointing out the need for continued vigilance.
