The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, has announced that the Regional Hospital at Sewua is ready to open its doors to the public, thanks to a dedicated power supply upgrade.

The Minister emphasized that, this development is a welcome relief, particularly considering the hospital’s significant capacity – initially reported to be 250 beds.

This development ensures smooth operations and sufficient power supply to sustain the hospital’s activities.

According to him, the hospital has all the necessary equipment for its operational needs, and the government plans to commission the facility before the end of 2024.

This he observed, aims to improve access to quality healthcare in the region.

The Minister highlighted the NPP government’s significant contributions to healthcare infrastructure and policies in the region, which have substantially improved healthcare services.

He assured that the government will continue to invest in healthcare, providing residents with access to quality medical care.

Notable healthcare initiatives in the Ashanti Region include the construction of 25 new hospitals, expected to be completed by the end of 2024, including the Sewua hospital.

Additionally, facilities such as Bekwai Municipal Hospital, Fomena-Adansi District Hospital, and Kumasi South Municipal Hospital have received upgrades.
