Three of Ghana’s top TikTok influencers have shared how much money they make from the video-sharing app and how to use social media to build wealth in the technology era.

TikTok is a social media platform where users can share short videos with various special effects and editing tools. The app is popular among teenagers and young adults for creating and sharing lip-syncing, comedy skits, and other creative content.

Wesley Kesseh, with 1.4M followers on TikTok, is one of the early Ghanaian users of the app.

Wesley’s content spans fashion, food and comedy. He revealed that he takes inspiration from everywhere and everything.

Emma Ifeanyi, who has 5 million followers and 93,000 likes, is popular for his comedy skits dressed as a woman in the traditional Ghanaian attire, Kaba and slit. As a Nigerian by birth, Ifeanyi has found fame in Ghana through the careful coaching of Erkuah Official.

Erkuah also has 4.3M followers with a record of about 60,000 views. She spoke about her life before and after TikTok.

She disclosed that she could barely afford to take care of herself, revealing that she couldn’t buy herself a wig and owned only two pairs of shoes.

How do they make money on TikTok?

“This is how we make our money. When people like brands come to us and want us to advertise something for them, I charge you and make a video for you. Song promotions. And we also make money through live streams,” Erkuah Official answered.

TikTok has become one of the main music promotion sites in Ghana and beyond. These days, a catchy hook with a good dance is usually the recipe for a hit song.

Thus almost every musician is paying these influencers to make videos with their songs for more coverage.
