Two vehicles have been burnt to ashes in East Legon. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, October 12.

Assistant Division Officer One (ADO1) of the Ghana National Fire Service, Alex King Nartey confirmed the incident to TV3 in an interview.

According to him, a head on collision between an Acura 4×4 vehicle and a Jaguar vehicle caused one of the vehicles to hit a wooden electric pole causing the electric wires to fall on the vehicles which sparked the fire.

Two occupants in the Acura vehicles were trapped due to the collision and ended up being burnt beyond recognition.

The driver of the Acura vehicle has been transported to the hospital for treatment as well as two occupants of the Jaguar vehicle who survived the accident.

According to videos shared by the Ghana Fire Service on Facebook, a burning electric pole sparked the fire which led to both vehicles being caught with fire.

As of the time of reporting the story, personnel of the GNFS were at the scene of the incident trying to evacuate the dead bodies from the destroyed vehicles.
