Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged constituents of Asunafo South in the Ahafo region to desist from the ‘skirt and blouse’ voting.
He says although the NPP always wins the presidential polls in the constituency, it has always lost the parliamentary election making the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) occupying the seat now.
Engaging some constituents at Sankore as part of his tour to the region, he urged the people to vote for the NPP parliamentary candidate to help him build a stronger government.
“Vote for me because I will improve your lives. Everybody knows that in Asunafo South, you always vote for NPP in the presidential election but you don’t vote for us in the parliamentary election. But I want you to change that in 2024, stop voting skirt-and-blouse and vote straight for us in both presidential and parliamentary elections.
“I want the people of Sankore to start changing that pattern and vote for Adusei so that I can add him in my next government. Don’t disappoint us this year we are both number 1.”
The Vice President will also be visiting the Asunafo North constituency where he will be engaging the chiefs, business leaders, and party supporters to promote his vision and rally support for the upcoming elections.
