John Dramani Mahama, the flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has justified why the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should be ousted from power next month.
He says the government has failed to meet the aspirations of Ghanaians considering where they took over the nation from and where it is today.
According to Mahama, all the economic indices are evident of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration’s cluelessness, the reason it must not be given another opportunity.
Speaking at Nsamam Adoagyiri lorry station at the commencement of his five-day tour of the Eastern region Monday, November 18, 2024, the former President said the NPP government has failed woefully and should be kicked out of office on December 07.
He narrated how a ball of kenkey which cost GHC1.00 in his time and heavily criticised by Akufo-Addo and his cohorts, now costs GHC7.00, crippling the average Ghanaian on acquiring three square meal a day.
Mahama opined that the government has scored ‘F’ in chains in the examination Ghanaians gave them on managing the economy, the reason they will be ousted just as a student is dispelled from school after scoring ‘F’ in all his papers.
“A ball of kenkey is now GHC5.00 and some have even started making GHC7.00. So if you decide to eat three, that’s GHC15.00 without fish and any other thing. So, the Ghana that’s sitting on wealth but going hungry as we were told, is it not now that we are famished than ever?
“If it was an exam that Bawumia and Akufo-Addo were writing, they would have failed abysmally. And if you write an exam and get ‘F9’ in chains, you are dismissed from the school. So the ‘F9’ they have gotten are being marked by Ghanaians so 7th December, Ghanaians say they have failed so they should go out of government for a competent government to take over,” he stated.
