Sammy Gyamfi is asking the Vice President and flag bearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to tell Ghanaians one policy intervention he has introduced to salvage the plummeting economy.
The National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who was sold to Ghanaians as an economic guru, has failed to tackle the challenges of the economy after 8 years in office.
The economic indices, according to Mr. Gyamfi, who is also a private legal practitioner, has shown that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration has given the worst performance in the Fourth Republic without any roadmap by the Vice President to better the situation.
According to Sammy Gyamfi, the Vice President, instead of concentrating on the economy, has shifted his focus on a supposed digitalisation and launching of apps which have not solved any of Ghana’s problems.
Speaking on the KeyPoints on TV3 Saturday, November 25, 2024, he questioned why Bawumia has been launching apps but has not introduced any to avert the depreciating currency.

The Head of the NDC’s National Communications Bureau, also questioned what the Vice President has done over the teeming unemployment in the country, whilst questioning his failure to implement any of his ‘Bold Solutions’ within the 8 years they have been in office.
“He spoke about solutions, you have been in office for 8 years, where were those solutions? That was what Bawumia said in 2016 to John Mahama, that if Mahama knew how to manage economy, where were all those ideas when he was in office for 8 years.
“Today you have also been in office for 8 years, where were those bold solutions? You’ve been launching…, every problem one app, one problem one app, so where is the app for the depreciating cedi? Where is the app to fix the unemployment problem?” asked Sammy Gyamfi.
He went on to highlight some of the solutions John Mahama is introducing to solve Ghana’s unemployment and economic challenges, such as the 24-hour economy, Women’s Development Bank, National Apprenticeship Programmes, Pharma Service Centres and Farm Banks amongst others.
He entreated Ghanaians to vote for John Mahama on December 7 since he has what it takes to take Ghana out of the mess the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government has taken the nation into, citing his infrastructure track-record, amid bequeathing a stronger economy where the dollar was only GHC4.00, unlike today where it is almost GHC17.00.
