Black Stars and West Ham United midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been selected among the continent’s best players at a ceremony to honour the excellent ones.
Held in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday, December 16, the 2024 CAF Awards saw the honouring of talents under different categories including the CAF FIFPro Best XI selected at the end of the ceremony.
Kudus’ outstanding form for club and country saw him selected among the African XI.
His performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, his double against Egypt in the group phase in particular, was highlighted as part of the video for the selection.
Aside the Ghanaian, the players who made this enviable list are Cameroon and Manchester United’s Andre Onana, Morocco and Paris-Saint Germain’s Achraf Hakimi, Senegal and Al Hilal’s Kalidou Koulibaly, DR Congo and Olympique Marseille’s Chancel Mbemba, Morocco and Fenerbahce’s Sofyan Amrabat and Ivory Coast and Al-Ahli Saudi’s Franck Kessie.
The others are Mali and Tottenham Hotspur’s Yves Bissouma, Egypt and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Nigeria and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen and his compatriot with Atalanta Ademola Lookman, who was also adjudged the CAF Footballer of the Year.
